There are a range of local support providers that you and your child can access while you wait for a health appointment or assessment. Many of these can continue to support you and your child beyond your appointment/assessment.

As a system we are working to improve waiting times for children, young people and their families. However, Shropshire and Telford Community Health services are continuing to experience a high volume of referrals. Unfortunately, that means children and young people are waiting longer than usual for their first appointment.

What to do if your child’s needs change whilst you are waiting

If your child's needs change please update the team you are waiting to see, or contact the person who made the referral.

Alternatively, you can contact your GP or contact NHS 111 for advice. If you believe that your child's symptoms are life threatening, please go to the nearest Hospital Emergency (A&E) Department or phone 999.
